Sustainability
Our Sustainability Approach
Woodberry is committed to sustainability, morally doing the right thing for the environment and society.
We want to partner clients on their sustainability journey to have a positive impact for us all
Our aim is to be carbon neutral by 2030 by reducing the impact of our UK operations and our wider supply chain. We are working towards this in a number of ways.
Environmental Certifications
ISO 14,0001 and 50,001 are certifications that give us a target to aim to achieve in terms of environmental sustainability and energy usage.
We are committed to zero carbon emissions by 2030 and these certifications give us a roadmap to reduce our carbon footprint.

FSC Certified
The FSC®, known as The Forest Stewardship Council® is a world-wide non profit company based in Germany.
The FSC® operates in over 100 markets with the aim of promoting the safe management of the world’s forestation. It helps to protect the precious and often rare wild life and the people who reside there; together with the safety of all local forest workers.
Here at Woodberry we acknowledge the importance of good quality timber, sourced and traded in an ethical and honest way. We want to ensure that our customers always have access to the highest quality timber products.
- Many of our catalogue products are FSC® Certified (FSC-C115839)
- These products are produced in accordance with FSC® rules and regulations
- Look for the FSC® logo in the catalogue product description box
Recycled Plastic Furniture
As well as choosing materials that are ethically sourced, we are always on the look out for innovative materials produced from recycled matter that we can use to design our own furniture range.
Our Greendine® furniture range ticks all the boxes when it comes to sustainability. This hard-wearing, environmentally friendly, durable plastic furniture range is created using a recipe of plastic products including:
- Plastic bottles
- Hay bale wrappings
- Juice Cartons
What makes this material even more attractive is that any off-cuts of the material can be reconstituted by the manufacturer and developed into a new sheet of workable material.
Supply Chain
We consider our supply chain in terms of carbon footprint reduction and ethical standards.
We have a mostly European supply chain and we only deliver within the UK. For full transparency we do still source some products from Vietnam, Indonesia and India.
We are working on getting these products supplied from Europe instead. All our supplier factories are inspected by sourcing agents ET2C and we have high standards of supplier vetting.
Recycling & Waste Policy
We are committed to a zero waste-to-landfill policy. The main waste generated by Woodberry is wood waste, cardboard and plastic wrapping.
We work with recycling partners to ensure that the waste produced on-site is made useful for another purpose.
End-Of-Life Recycling
Recycling End-of-Life Products is a service we offer to our clients. This is our commitment to cradle-to-grave product lifecycle sustainability.
We will collect the previous Woodberry supplied products from your site and the components are recycled through our waste partners.
We offer instructions for dismantling products should the client wish to recycle them in their own scheme.
Replanting Native Trees
One Tree Planted
For every Woodberry order, a tree is planted in rainforests where it is needed most.
We do this through the charity One Tree Planted, a global organisation whose projects help restore native trees to much needed environments.
