This Summer the weather has been incredible and it is looking like the first part of Autumn is also going to be glorious. However, at some point, the colder weather will creep up on us, and you will need to consider the safe storage of many of your outdoor accessories.
So we have put together a set of simple instructions on the correct way to safely and securely dismantle and store your pretty parasols during the colder months.
Allow the parasol to dry out thoroughly and remove any loose leaves or pollen; this will keep the fabric fresh and prevent any stale odors from forming. Once the unit is completely dry, carefully fold it down and wrap the fabric around the pole tightly and secure the weather cover.
Unscrew the tightening nut of the concrete parasol base, and carefully lift the parasol out. Remember to securely tape any spare screws to the parasol pole with masking tape.
Unscrew the lower part of the parasol pole to make the parasol shorter and more accessible to store.
It is essential to store the parasols in a cool, dry space over the winter months, to ensure the fabric doesn’t become water stained if it is left wet for several months or more.
Remember to avoid storing your parasols where mice are likely to be, as they are notorious for feasting on the fabric. Parasols with teeth marks and holes will not be of any use to you or your customers next Spring.
