What area do electric patio heaters heat?
Woodberry’s Commercial Electric Patio Heaters heat an area up to 6 square metres.
If you have a more sheltered or semi enclosed area like a gazebo or roofed terrace then customers might feel the heat further away and the efficiency will certainly be greater as the heat will be contained for longer than in open air.
How quickly does an electric patio heater warm up?
Woodberry’s infrared, low-glare, electric patio heaters provide instant warmth from when they are switched on.
Infrared heats the object not the air, which then in turn re-radiates the heat to create efficiencies more than air warming heaters.
How warm does it get?
The heat output is 2kw per hour.
How warm it feels will depend on how cold it is outside, how close customers are sitting to it, whether you have it under a roof or in an outdoor shelter with or without sides.
How much do electric patio heaters cost to run?
£0.36 – £0.40 depending on your electricity tariff. These commercial electric patio heaters run from mains electricity with 2kw per hour heat output.
Can I hardwire outdoor electric patio heaters into mains electricity?
Yes, you can hard wire them into mains electricity but please get a qualified electrician to do this.
Can I set a timer for the electric patio heater to go on and off?
This function is not integrated into the electric patio heaters that we supply.
However, but you could set something up with a timer on a plug, for the heater to run for a certain length of time. Some of our clients have wired them to link to a push button so they come on for a certain amount of time when the customer hits the ‘boost’ button. You’d certainly need a qualified electrician for this.
Can the electric patio heaters be remote controlled to switch on and off?
Yes, they can be remote controlled. The Slimline Electric Patio Heater comes with a remote control.
However, just consider that you will need to keep track of where the remote control is to turn it on and off! This could be an issue if you have multiple members of staff looking after the remote controller.
Can electric patio heaters go under a gazebo?
Yes. Electric wall mounted heaters work well with outdoor gazebos. We recommend them for our wooden and metal gazebos. With a 10cm clearance from the top of the gazebo (if this is wooden or metal). Electric heaters come with brackets for wall mounting.
Please make sure you adhere to all the safety advice about where to position them for customer safety.
Can they go in a marquee?
We would not advise using Woodberry’s wall mounted electric patio heaters in marquees, there are more effective heaters specifically designed to heat marquees.
The reason we do not advise using them in a marquee is because they need a 25cm clearance around them from any materials that are flammable or could melt. This may cause issues with pvc or canvas sides.
You could perhaps include them in a marquee attached to a more solid support (with 10cm clearance around, 25cm if materials likely to melt or be flammable) like a freestanding heater stand or shelving unit. But please adhere to safety advice to keep your customers safe.
Can they go on a wall?
Yes, absolutely. These commercial electric patio heaters are designed to be wall mounted and come with a wall mounting bracket.
We recommend that they are at least 10cm away from wood, brick or metal. At least 25cm from anything else that could be flammable or melt.
Also, consider the clearance above doors, windows and keeping them out of the way of people bumping their heads or children reaching to touch them.
What should electric patio heaters fix to?
These wall mounted electric patio heaters should be fixed to a wall or a solid structure like a wooden or metal gazebo or pergola.
A hard surface that will allow screws to affix them into the wall/wood/metal but that will secure the screws of the bracket from being loose, wobbly or falling out. This fixing should be out of the reach of people touching it for safety and have clearance for head height so people do not bump themselves on something hot.
How much space should be around them for safety?
We recommend a minimum of 10cm clearance all around the electric patio heater, especially from the ceiling and wall. A minimum of 25cm clearance away from anything that might melt or be flammable.
The wall mounting bracket will help keep the electric patio heater away from the wall or structure it is mounted onto.
The heater should be positioned at least 1.8m from the floor and should not be anywhere that people could bump their heads upon it when getting up from the table or walking around in your outdoor areas.
Please adhere to all the safety instructions that come with the product instructions.
What height should the electric patio heaters be mounted at for safety?
The heater should be positioned at least 1.8m from the floor and should not be anywhere that people could bump their heads upon it when getting up from the table or walking around in your outdoor areas.
It should certainly be kept out of the reach of children as the electric heaters will be hot to the touch.
Are the electric patio heaters waterproof?
The aluminium casing is waterproof, so they are weather proof outdoors just don’t pour water directly into the heating section.
How long are they guaranteed for?
Our electric patio heaters come with a 2-year guarantee.
